Elmington Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Director at the Cariad at North Brook location! 

As a Maintenance Director you will  provide assistance in the care of the community buildings and grounds by performing a variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance and repair duties in assigned maintenance operations, which may include outdoor areas, lighting, facilities, common areas, hallways, and resident rooms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not
  • Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power
  • Inspects drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Performs and/or outsources electrical and plumbing work within industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts, using hand tools, and power
  • Performs preparatory work for maintenance activities, including gathering equipment, materials, and supplies, loading and unloading materials, and laying out materials and equipment for
  • Performs a variety of routine physical labor tasks, such as pulling weeds, picking up litter, raking leaves and debris, planting, replacing light bulbs, and moving furniture as
  • Performs cleanup at the end of the day or when the job is completed, including picking up tools, spills, and debris cleaning work areas and performing touch up work as
  • Assists in housekeeping duties as
  • Sets up meeting areas for meetings and events as
  • Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the Maintenance
  • Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS of this position are generally as follows:

  • This position has no supervisory requirements.

EDUCATION  and  EXPERIENCE  an  equivalent  combination  of  education,  training  and  experience  will  be considered.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in a maintenance position; or an equivalent combination of education and work

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS  and ABILITIES which may be representative  but not  all  inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Reading Ability - Able to read and interpret written information, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure
  • Written Communication - Able to write clearly and informatively.

  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
  • Math Ability - Knowledge of arithmetic and its Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles for providing customer and personal This includes meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Building & Construction - Knowledge of the materials, methods and tools involved in the repair of buildings and structures.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairing - Determining the causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about
  • Manual Dexterity - The ability to move the hands with skill and coordination, grasp, manipulate or assemble
